Service Pulse Research Hub

The Service Pulse Research Hub specializes in academic action research. Its mission is to bridge theory and practice, providing organizations with the latest insights on how to align and enhance alignment with customer and stakeholder promises and contextualize them into actionable value propositions.

It primarily focuses on service research, emphasizing promise management and organizational promise readiness across four main tracks: Service Readiness, Sustainability Readiness, ESG Readiness, and Brand Readiness.

It is an independent research community committed to the guidelines for responsible conduct of research set by the Finnish National Board on Research Integrity, TENK

Our Current Main Research Tracks

Employee Service Readiness

In this track, we focus on assessing how aligned employees are with an organization’s service promises and exploring factors that enhance or impede their ability to live up to these promises. Findings from this track advance the development of the Co-worker Oriented Value Proposition (CO-VAL) model from a service perspective and provide insights into the capabilities employees need to perform in alignment with service promises in service provision.

Employee Sustainability Readiness

In this track, we focus on assessing how aligned employees are with an organization’s sustainability promises and exploring factors that enhance or impede their ability to live up to these promises. Findings from this track advance the development of the Co-worker Oriented Value Proposition (CO-VAL) model from a sustainability perspective and provide insights into employees’ sustainability readiness.

Employee ESG Readiness

This research track focuses on exploring organizations’ ESG readiness in sustainable investing. Findings from this track advance the development of the Co-worker Oriented Value Proposition (CO-VAL) model from an ESG perspective, specifically identifying the capabilities employees need to align with sustainability promises in their investment work.

Employee and Employer Brand Readiness

This research track focuses on exploring organizations’ brand readiness from an employee perspective, including employer promises. Findings from this track advance the development of the Co-worker Oriented Value Proposition (CO-VAL) model from a brand perspective. Specifically, the research identifies the capabilities employees need to align with brand promises and the capabilities management needs to align with employer promises.

Our Research Tool

Based on our longitudinal research, we have developed the Service Pulse research tool, which includes a set of attributes to assess promise readiness in organizations. The tool is applicable to our research tracks contexts and evaluates promise readiness concerning a specific promise. It assesses promise readiness on individual, team and organizational level.

The aim of our upcoming research is to identify and analyze factors that impact organizational alignment with actionable value propositions (contextualized promises) on a longitudinal basis in our four main research tracks. The research focuses on promise alignment in different sectors such as care, ESG investing, real estate, retail and HoReCa.

We explore factors that enhance the interweaving of actionable value propositions into the service strategy and investment process by company internal expertise infusion. We apply a co-workership approach, and service design inspired methods.
